I've got the starter kill in my and page if someone tampers. I haven't had any warranty problems as far as service goes. In fact with the number of SD's being stolen here; the dealer actually encourages them. Even go as far as giving referrals to quality shops for installation.
Also insurance companies have been known to lower rates as well if you piggy-back security precautions. I know mine will if you have a redundant security system, the only problem is that I'm not to fond of the shops round here to get it done unless I want to drive 3 hrs away, which I don't and I don't trust myself on installation to get it done right the first time either.
Your factory warranty CANNOT be voided due to aftermarket equipment installation....EXCEPT....if it can proven that they aftermarket item or it's installation caused the problem.
For example, let's say your alarm caused a short and fried the computer. The computer and the repair would not be covered by your factory warranty. That said, they cannot void the warranty of the whole truck...only what was damaged by the installation or failure of non-Ford installed gear.
