folks, I need a little advice, I have a F350 PSD and I have had to put some big bucks into the vehicle. First new ball joints $600, then a new wheel bearing, $300, new rear springs, $650, add a leaf in the front, because I have a snow plow, $150. Now I need new brakes, rotors an alignment, and new tires.
I'm going to get the stock load calipers and stock rotors, I can do this my self, but then the tire issue, I now have the Michelin 275, 70 16 stock tires, but I would like something a little different, but I want to keep my fuel milage up, I know I can go up to 305 75 16, with no problem,I have had tire prices from $130 for stock tires to $220 for the 305's. I would like a little imput from ya all, on what is the bestest and greatest tires. I'm sure there are lots of opinions out there, so lets hear! oh the loaded calipers cost $100 per side, and the rotors are about the same, I also would like to know an average alignment cost on a 4x4 F350 superduty. P.S. my wife is not in a very good mood when I told her the added cost to my toy, oh I purchased this truck 18 months ago for 14,900 the body is in great shape and I have 159,000 miles, The guy who worked on my truck says I have a rebuilt tranny, I have a 4" exhaust and a tube aircleaner. Also the mechanic says everything else is good to go for my truck except for these items.

 

I think a great tire for the conditions you are describing is the Michelin LTX M/S. With your truck a 285/75/16 would look great and would actually help with fuel mileage if you can keep your foot out of it due to the decreased rpm's at cruise speed. BTW, the 305's are actually 305/70/16, not 75. Good luck.
