Has anyone installed over cab running lights. I want to do this myself and wondering if it is a big job. I know I will have to zip up my mansuit and drill holes in the top of the cab but after that...
Is there a complete wire harness ready to plug in available?
Is there a template that shows exactly where to drill the holes?
About how much should this cost?
Where to get the entire kit?
Any help would be appreciated. I thought I posted this yesterday but the post did not show up on the list of threads... will try again this AM.
Does anyone know where you can get the harness and lights OTHER THAN EBAY and the Dealer. I tried to purchase from ebay but the dreaded paypal process has prevented another successful purchase! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I got my lights on Ebay for about 85$. They didnt come with a template but the instructions were very detailed. Just check and recheck your numbers. It took longer taking every thing apart then actually putting lights in. It was really scary drilling holes in my 3 month old truck. Im realy happy the way they came out.
I got my entire kit: 5 lights and the harness from http://www.discountfordpartsaty2kford.com. They have really great service, quick to help you out, fantastic prices. I've also ordered my upfitter switches and harness from them also. I'd highly suggest giving them a call or sending them an email.
As for instructions on doing the install go to the link for emotoman. I followed his instructions and it worked like a charm. Above all else, before you drill your first hole check your layout then walk away. Come back and check it again. Walk away and then have a buddy check the layout. Seeing how you need to drill a total of 15 holes (3 neded for each light) nothing could be worse than ending up with a crooked light. I did the install with help from a buddy who works on aircraft and is really good and exacting tollarances. Expect to spend a a good portion of a day on this project. But when your done you'll defiently like the looks.
