I have a 1996 F-150 ext cab long bed 4x4 with 6" suspension lift and 35" tires. It has 3.55 gears and now I am obviously having problems with the overdrive and highway speeds. I need some direction as far as 4.10 or 4.56.
Yep. Try this one...http://www.csgnetwork.com/multirpmcalc.html
Plug in your factory tire size, which was 28", 3.55 gears and pick 60mph for example. Now look at the engine speed for AOD. Next change the tire size to 35" and you'll see the engine speed drop. Now change the gearing until you get it to be atleast as high as it was with factory wheels.
