They dont offer them as a factory option partially because of the premium fuel requirement. The chips require alot of R&D and usually arent released for quite while after the rigs hit the market. The new car mfg companies dont put much effort to improve whats already out the door.

Also, some people don't like firmer shifts. Ford has to make shift characteristics that pleases the largest number of people, or at least offends the smallest number.
