OK My aunt bought an old pre cival war plantatation house when I was kid I recall she got it real cheap.unbelieveable low price. After she and familt lived there for a while they started hearing "things at night" I was only about 12 and wasnt told everything but My cousin said the place was haunted and he was afraid. Soon a decendant of the original owners asked to buy back the house to keep it in the family, aunt said NO.short time later she died in a car wreck.they then asked her daughter who was in charge if she would sell it back to the family, she too saif NO.several months later SHAE TOO DIED IN A CAR WRECK, ON THE SAME ROAD IN THE SAME SPOT,,,The house was sold back .and later a TV news ptogram wanted to make story on it but my remaining relatives didnt ever want to talk about it anymore,.STRANGE but TRUE

my mother owns a house that was built in 1811. It was General Brock of the English Army's office during the war of 1812 here in Amherstburg. But no ghosts in it!

The house my aunt bought was a real southern style plantation house. most of the land was already sold except the house which sat on about 3 acres, It had the original slave quarters still intack and a bricked up jail house building in the back for locking up slaves that disobeyed, This house had to have been owned by a very rich family before the cival war,,,,,,Who knows what kind of bad stuff occured there many years ago.......,

This one happened to me the other night.

The house I live in was built in 1881 in what was originally called Coulson City before Billings came into being a year later just across the Yellowstone river. Anywhoo, I was lying in bed the other night trying to get to sleep. I was facing the bedroom door, (which originally was where the fireplace was), when I opened my eyes and saw a lady standing in the doorway looking out the living room window. She was about 5'-3" tall, dark hair, kinda pudgy and she had light colored clothes on.

My sphincter slammed shut and as I was shooting up in bed.....she disappeared. My girlfriend woke right up and asked me what was going on. After I told her, neither one of us slept for a couple of hours. I did some research on the internet on the city of Coulson Mt. and I'll be darned if I didn't see a picture with our house right smack dab in the middle of it at the end of Main St! I don't know a thing about the original owners, but I think I'll look it up.

The house I lived in when I was a kid was owned, built by my step fathers great grand parents and is close to 275yrs old and according to my mom, aunt and cousin is haunted and they said they thought it was his grandmother. Now I never had any thing happen to me when living there and I stayed in my step dads old bedroom ,but my mom was in the master bedroom and so was my aunt and cousin after we had moved out.I remember the stories they were talking about after my aunt had moved out of there, all of them suffered nightmares that seemed to tell the same stories and had things happen to them that they couldn't explain. My aunt and cousin refused to ever go back in that house as it was so bad. When I asked my mom why I never had a problem when I was there and all she could think of is I am a male and it only seemed to mess with the females that were there.

My sister married a guy whose wife died of cancer. She died in her bed. Her husband had two children 3 and 6 years old. One day while i was visiting we heard the kids having a conversation with someone upstairs. My sister asked who they were talking to. They said they were talking to mommy, she is helping us clean up. Kids being kids we didn't give it a thought. About an hour went by and my sister went up to put the kids laundry away. When she got there it was all done. She called me to have a look to prove she wasn't going crazy. Shure enough everything was put exactly where it was supposed to go. Here is the kicker. The dresser where the kids clothes go is six foot tall. there is nothing for them to stand on, but the clothes were put away as neat as could be. When my sister asked. They said mommy did it. Just me,my sister, and the kids here in the house. True story. Believe it or not.

Dont have to convince me of these things we cannot explain. I know the end of the physical life, doesnt necessarily mean the end of the life force the body held. jmo

Ok, when I was 12 my grandfather was very ill and has many strokes. He was in diminished health for about three years and was going to die any day. It was a situation in which it was not an unpleasant thing, as I know that he would not want to go on living as he was at that time. Well, at 12:32am I was asleep and felt someone sitting on my bed and grab my ankle. I awoke to see my grandfather sitting at the edge of my bed. He was as I remembered him before his strokes. Well, he tells me all is well and that he is fine. He then tells me that everything will work out and that he will always be with me. I told him that I missed him and that I wish he was up in Phoenix. (He was in Tucson or 130 mils away) He then told me that he had to go see my mother and I heard him walk on the hardwood floor and then on the tile in front of my parents bedroom.

Well the next morning I was eating breakfast and we got a phone call from the hospital in Tucson stating that my grandfather has died at 12:31am and that the proceedings for his final arrangements were underway. I asked my mother if anything “strange” happened the previous night and she looked at me and said yeah, granddad visited.

Great story AZ..

The same thing happened to my wife as a young person when her grandmother she cared for so much, had passed on days earlier. My wife was awakened by "something" touching her bed. It was her grandmother sitting at the foot of the bed. She made no noise, just smiled at my wife real big like she was telling her it is o.k. now.

I worked in a 100 y/o+ factory in CT. We tried to hire a security company to watch it at night. Every night after about midnight, the guard would get scared and leave. Finally, the owner, a burly ex-Marine watched the property. He called the next day to say he wouldn't guard the property, period. Never said why. I was the 2nd shift supervisor, and had to lock up every night. One night several of us heard someone walk across the floor over our heads as we were leaving. We went up there, and found nothing. It certainly wasn't a cat or raccoon- it was clearly a person walking around. I offered to buy the beer and pizza if a few of the guys would stay overnight w/ me- no takers!
