Lately the smell of burnt anti freeze is coming into the cab everytime i turn the air/heater on. Why is this??

I know its anti freeze fumes because the same smell happened before and it turned out my radiator hose came dettached from the radiator. But I looked and everyting is connected..anyone have this problem? or know why this is? getting annoying to smell that everytime...help!!

It's because your heater core is failing. You are looking at the task of pulling your dash in order to replace the core on your 2000 F150.

New Problem?? Need Help!!

Was checking the engine to see if everything was in line and noticed this pulley (the darker one) was not spinning once the engine was running...basically the belt is skuffing that area up on the pulley...would this have anything to do with the heater core not working??

If your heater gives you heat, then no. If you have a locked pulley I would change that ASAP. That one appears to just be an idler pulley.

Replacing the heater core can range from $600-1100 at a shop. It would not affect the AC.

Replacing the core yourself can take 1 weekend, with a new core running less than $100.
