hey guys i need to know what trans would make my truck a little peppier. i want to keep it auto since my gf mite have to drive it while im workin on her car. plus its easier to just get in and go after bein at the races all night and bein tired. so yea i believe anything that bolts up to the 302 bolts up to the 300 (which is what i have). thanks for any of the help you guys can give me.

I would go with the C6. It's won't give you pep but is heavy duty and very reliable. What year is your truck?

AOD.

You can get wider ratios, and you have the OD. So, you can fool around with the diff ratio and get a combination that uses the relatively narrow power band of the 300 more better than a 3 speed.

Here are some AOD sites, followed by a site with a rpm/mph calculator where you can plug in your ratios and tire sizes. Good luck.
