Should men do laundry? Absolutely....just not mine.
I went through the horror of ruined clothes already.

When she worked full time, I did the laundry. About 12 years of marriage worth.
When she left her industry job to start her own business out of the house, she took over the laundry tasks so I could work more at my side business of mower repair to make up some of the money we were doing without due to her change in job status.
I never minded doing it. Usually on Sundays. Gave me an excuse to stay in the house and watch football, read the paper or watch movies for much of the afternoon.

Around our place almost everything functions under the rule of "if you see something needs done, do it!" Including all housework, yard work and vehicle maintenance.

In practical terms I do more of the shop work and my wife does more of the housework, but only 'cause thats how it sorts itself out. No his/her specific jobs tho. We both work full time and the kids are on their own.

I like that Heinlein quote - right on target!

Well I thought I did good and so did she. Until she started sorting it. She held up the trow rug (the one the dog sleeps on) and a pair of her panties and ask if they had been in the same load. I said ya they were in the same pile. She informed me that she would not wear them till they was rewashed. I have this vision of all her undies being washed with the rug and her not having any to wear. LOL. Than she informs me that she will sort the laundry and I still have a new job in training. What I don't understand is that mine and the boy's shorts where in the same load. And that was fine by her as they didn't go in the rewash pile. Am I missing somthing here.

Oh that's funny.
I would have done the same thing she did.
And about your underthings....I think that is up to your discretion.

I don't see any dog hair or gravel in them Robin. So I think us boys are fine. We change our drawers every day. Now the hand made winter socks that the neighbor woman made me for Christmas are soooo comfy that they don't go to the laundry basket till they stand on there own as I only have two pair. The set I wash and dried yesterday seem a lot smaller though. Maybe my feet are swelling up again. Ya think?

Depends on what they're made of. most things shrink because the fibers swell up, then again, the way some other things shrink, it seems unnatural (rayon, wool).

If they don't fully recover after wearing for a bit then I'd probably wash in cold water and hang dry.

I know how to do laundry, but I don't do it often. I either take it to the laundromat up the street and drop it off and have them do it for $1 a pound, or I take it to my parents when I go to visit and my mom does it so I don't "ruin her machine".

It just takes to much time for me to do it myslef. I live in an apartment so the machines are 3 floors away in the basement. When I do try to do it I forget about it and stuff sits in the machine for a couple hours till I remember. Then I foget about it in the dryer and everything gets all wrinkled. It ends up taking me all day long to do laundry because I get busy doing other stuff and it takes 2-3 hours a load. I figured my time is worth enough to spend $40 a month to have someone else do my laundry, and they do a much better job than I do.

I am in the service. The service of my wife. OH she said the Queen. I am thinking of crowning her. She laughed. They are home today as there is to much snow to get out of town. So they didn't go to school.

Man did a join a forum of overachievers or what? Now i've got to sneak out of bed at night to read stuff like that, just so my wife doesn't discover what a worthless
turd-roller i am. I had life by the ***** too. If i ever get caught I am toast.
76supercab2, do you think i would look better in a mini-skirt, a long flowing skirt, or just a full blown June Kleaver dress? I've got nice bicycle rider calves.LOL, Dan

The June Kleaver look works for me, but those high heels are murder on my arches.
