Battery light still on
So a little history. When I would stand on the gas (5.4) and the truck made the 1-2 shift the batt light would blink. Then a while latter the light would come on and stay on any time the rpm were 3 grand or higher. I swapped out the serpentine belt and tensioner thinking they were weak and allowing the belt to slip a bit at higher rpm. Only had time for a real quick jaunt today and the light still blinked at the 1-2 shift. I will drive it some more and see if it comes on above 3000 like it did before. My question is where to gom from here. Does it sound like an alternator? I have had some go out on other vehicles but they didnt act like that (only putting out a charge at low rpm). Has anybody had similiar issues??

OK, there are just a few real basic components to your charging system.
Belt, alternator, battery and cables.
If your battery is OK (do have it tested at Autozone) and your cables are free from corrosion and in good shape, then yes, your alternator is probably in need of a replacement.

my alt went xmass weekend got the battery too. 400.00 later all better now (200.00 alt 200.00 yellow top). got a batt light 2 days before bright at idel next day startup no batt light.day three sitting in parking lot running parking lights on radio on started skiping and stalled dead batt. those warning lights mean buiss.autozone check hole system...
