I used a 1" socket with an extentionafter i unplugged the electrical connector. I believe the nut on the tube going to the sensor was 5/8" and i used a flare wrench for better contact. Never had to remove the fan, the wrench fit inbetween the blades. take the tube off and the electrical connector and then use a 1" socket and extention and it should come right out. Here is a link to some pictures, hope they help a little. Just hit next to look at all the pictures for the ebp sensor.

I just used a stubby cresent wrench on mine. But, I've also heard that a crow's foot wrench will work well.

Crowfoot works good on the tube. I never had any problem with a deep socket on the sensor you just want to make sure you dont put too much lateral force on it as the sensor can break. Might want to shoot it with a little WD40.

do you need to unhook the tube to get the sensor out or can you just screw the sensor out and unhook the bottom and clean the tube.

You can remove the sensor without removing the tube. There is a little flange under the sensor, the Tube screws in the bottom and the sensor screws in the top. You will probably need to remove the other end of the tube from the Pass side exhaust manifold to be able to clean it good.

I would try to take the tube off to make it easier to clean. It should come off pretty easy, maybe use some penetrating oil or wd-40 like mentioned above. I used square weed eater line(.095), a believe amiller recommended that.
