gas mileage mods
Hi guys 
I hope I'm in the right forum for this. I would like to get a less restrictive muffler, but it always scares the heck outta me to do so on a v6.... because they just dont sound as good as the v8's. I can't find any sound clips but I'm looking for something just a tad bit louder than stock, and not raspy. Also, I can't find cold air intakes anywhere for this truck. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me...
its a base model (work truck) 2005 v6 f150.

Not many mods will ACTUALLY improve your fuel mileage. Many will claim, but few deliver.
The mods I have seen that actually have an affect are
our BamaChips custom tuner, which will give you power AND fuel mileage
and an e-fan kit, to take some of the parasitic loss away from the engine.
As far as other performance parts, they probably wont hurt, but you probably wont notice much of a difference either.
Look for a magnaflow muffler, for a good sound thats not raspy and wont sound "ricey" on a 6 cylinder.
