Talking Performance Tuners

I'm looking at buying a performance tuners for my truck, mainly just to get better towing mileage, but I admit to occationally play, but nothing serious like racing. I am wondering if anyone knows the difference between the Bully Dog Power Pup and the Bully Dog triple dog tuner, other than the fact that the triple tuner can be set for GM. Ford or Dodge. does anyone know of any real differences.

Sence they are the same company the actual tune should be the same. The tech to upload it or hold it may be different, but I doubt there is any performance/economy gains between them.

The triple dog tuner has more safety features built into it then does the regular power pup(tranny defuel is not available last time I checked on the regular power pup), however they both have the safety feature of pyro defuel. Both before listed safety features are only applicable if you have a digital gauge(preferablely the outlook in order to ensure compatiblity). You are able to view atleast one more gauge with the triple dog then the power pup(throttle position, I know might not be big whoop, but it is a difference, once again only if you have the outlook monitor). No matter what tuner you go with, I would recommend the digital gauge, particularly since I pretty much demand knowing exactly where I am diagnostically anyway. I know there are some that thing just knowing a range is good, it depends on what you desire, but for me I like to know exactly where I am at and a digital gauge does that, also you get shift on the fly performance settings and the safety features listed above when you do a digital gauge. As far as performance goes, they are pretty much the same gains.

I am not familiar with the Bully Dogs, but I did gain 10-15% in mileage when I used the 40hp high altitude tow setting on the Diablo Predator. Mileage jumped from ~10mpg to ~11.0-11.5mpg when towing a 28ft trailer that weighs about $7500 lbs.

Oh by the way I decided on getting the bully dog triple tuner, mainly since it seems to be the only one really available in Canada, unless I want to go though the extra expence of ordering one from the US so I've got it now I need to update it. and it seem when I try to go into the bully dog web site I can get into the download center but when I select new the particular site is down, infact anything beyond the initial download center link seem to be pretty well unavailable
