4x4 Maintenance

I own a 99 Expedition XLT. I have never done any maintenance on the 4 wheel drive components although the truck has probably not been in 4 hi or low for more than a couple of hours total time since I bought it new. I only use it when the snow gets deep. My truck has about 50,000 miles. Should I be doing some type of maintenace on the system? Any help is appreciated.

I like to cycle it into 4H / 4L every month or 2 just to keep the parts moving..

Have you changed the transfer case fluid yet? With low mileage you should go by age and refresh fluids. I follow the severe service schedule just to be safe....regular maintenance is cheap compared to repairs/replacement!
