Windshield molding/weatherstripping
I have an 87 f150 and the chrome trim on the windshield has come off. The molding under is rotted out and needs replacing. Does the windshield need to come out or can I buy a new weatherstrip/molding?

The chrome strips can just be replaced by themselves. If the actual rubber molding that surrounds the windshield is cracked, yes, the windshield will have to be removed. A job better done by the pros. They put my front and back glass in my 79 for 160 bucks (labor and gaskets only) and came to my garage to do it. Money well spent.

The windshield HAS TO come out! The molding rotted and is cheaper to get a PPG Autoglass shop in your area to do it, And if there is a problem they will fix it.
