94' block in a 93'??

94' block in a 93'??

My 93' Bronco has a F4 casting on the block. Does this mean the engines been replaced or is it possible it's just part of a running changeover to new 5.8 blocks?

that block is a roller ready block. f4te would be the complete casting number. the block will work in any year really. just swap over the parts from the other motor and your done.

It is F4TE. I'm not replacing the motor, I just noticed the casting when I removed the starter and it made me wonder if the motor has been replaced prior to me buying the Bronco.

Hey this is a late reply but I've been searching back posts for info. Your Bronco is probably a late production 93, some of these used the F4TE block casting. So yes, it's a running change to the new 5.8 blocks. Can you find a casting date code on the engine block?

You can also check the build date on the vin tag on the door jam, If it was in the last 4-5 months of 93 then It's probably the original engine.
