OK Its 4th tranny I'm putting in my 2000 s/d, I bought the stock tranny cooler from ford, the two other times, is their a better one out there ?
thanks in advance Dave Smoljan
Jasper covered the trans, so its not to bad, I need the truck to last another yr. and I thinking the cooler its the biggest problem, is that the best cooler out there ?
I would wonder if there was something else wrong. 4 trannies is plenty unless you have 400,000 miles on it.
Do you have a temperature guage and what does it read? Unless the temperature is sitting at say 250F all the time, there is something else eating your tranny.
What does the shop say when you take it in for rebuild?
Something is wrong and it may not be the temperature.
the stock tranny lasted 103k, 2nd tranny lasted 133k, 3rd tranny last to 157k
I went to a bud who owns ATS diesel here in Colorado and bought His Triple Lock Converter and a ATS oversize tranny pan and got rid of the by pass cooler line, Clint Cannon said it it should take of my problems (I hope)
