hello
is it possible to chance some rods out a '78 460 with some rods out a '70 429?
i have a '78 460 with 3 broken rods and the rebuildingcompany have some rods out a '70 429.
the difference is the weight on the rodbearingcap and the weight on the pistonend of the rod. from the 429 are bigger. is that a problem?

the rods should all be the same weight,ideally.i'd try and find some that would be the same type rod.here they'd be readily available,but probably not so prevalent over there.you should be able to get some shipped in.

You definitely want the rods uniform. To do otherwise could cause a major imbalance and the results could be disastrous. I would check the online parts houses and try to get a new set. If the 429 rods are the same lenght and journal diameters as the 460 why not just use the whole set out of the 429?
