Excessive smoke
I own a 2003 F350 with a 6.0 motor. Started off with rough idle in the mornings only about a month back but ran fine. Last night started running rough at idle (stop lights) with excessive smoke. At freeway speeds no smoke only under pressure ( cajon pass) but ran fine. Smoke is whitish/blue but turns dark if i step on gas. Any advice is appreciated.

Is there a test that i can do or should I replace it now. You are problably right as far being the EGR. I was told by a Ford dealer a few months back when I was having some other work done that when the tech started it in the morning he noticed it the rough idle and had suggested it. If I go ahead and replace it, is there a gasket that is there and do i use sealant whe replacing it?
If there isn't a gasket can it be removed and inspected?
Before replacing, when i remove it is there another step I should do (cleaning) before I re install? Thanks for your knowledge?
