Question Adding PowerGate tailgate lock

I am trying to connect a PowerGate tailgate lock to my '06 F-150 SCrew. I need help identifying the correct wires for the door lock controls. Per the manufacturer's instructions I located and connected to the appropriate colored wires (pink w/black & red w/orange) in a harness bundle inside the driver's side kick panel. Does not work, though I have not yet confirmed good connections, and has resulted in an apparent air bag system fault (flashing indicator light).

There are three harness bundles in this area. The wires I found were in the middle bundle. Can anyone help identify the appropriate door lock wires and the bundle location?

Use the forum search feature for 'power tailgate lock' and look at the #9 post dated 09-13-2006, 02:07 PM. I explained the whole install process. Good luck.

Thanks. Found it.

I guess the purpose of the separate relays is to create a separate circuit so as no to isolate the tailgate lock and not cause problems with the door locks. But it makes sense that the tailgate lock could work directly off of the door lock circuit, thus making the wiring a whole lot simpler (now that I have already routed, mounted and connected the extra relays!!). I will likely give it another try tonight.

If I remember correctly the locks work off negetive not a positve lead, be sure yours is wired accordingly.
