Can anyone offer some brake rotor advise? I have a 90 F-250 2WD that is going to require replacement of the front brake rotors shortly. I have read a LOT of postings here talking about slotted, drilled, and frozen brake rotors. I don't think I want to experiment with any of those things. The truck is not used for towing or hauling any large loads. It is just a simple street truck that gets light service. I just want to get a good set of American made rotors without spending a fortune. When I look at a website such as NAPA for example, how to tell good rotors from the ones I should steer clear of. NAPA has one rotor that is about 75 dollars and another that is about 115. Am I to assume the pricier one is made here and the cheaper is not. I checked some other sites like Trak and Autozone and they have even cheaper ones. Any sugestions? I just want plain, simple good quality rotors.
Napa has good parts. Not an Advance fan, I've re-placed more Advance parts than any other I've used.
Orielly's sells Wagner brand brake pads and rotors. They will cost you more than any house brand. But they are a good quality part. Made of better, heavier metals. Won't heat up and warp, crack like a cheaper rotor.
I don't go cheap on any part that has anything to do with steering, or stopping.
