I think DC is taking a big risk selling a re-badged chery. Sure it will be a cheap new car that gets good gas mileage. So was the Yugo. If it's a piece of dung death trap with an ultra lo markup what do they gain? Maybe Wally World should just sell them out of their parking lot. We'll see.
I think China will be a player. Low production costs will win over time. If Daimler gets involved, quality control won't be an issue. The actual quality of the product is another story.
