backfire after warm up

Hey, I have what I hope to be an easy question. I did a search on backfire and got a lot of results but no one with the problem I'm having. My truck is a 77 f100 with a 302 and c4. I finally got insurance and tags for my truck so I can drive it on the road legally now!!
Well now it has run more in the last two weeks than it has in the last two years since the rebuild. Any way it does fine as long as the fast idle is on, but when it idles down it starts to pop every now and again. It runs smooth then POW!! smooth then POW POW! Do any of you have any idea, I'm thinking the wires may need to be changed they are about 7 years old but have very few miles on them because the engine blew up not long after I got them then the truck sat for years now its back on the road.
Any thoughts would really be appreciated!

Could be the wires, or a partially fouled plug. Pull the plugs and inspect them. Also, look under the dizzy cap, could have a little moisture.
