No start info
Replaced the coil, figured it would help orginal one to the truck and I couldn't tell if I had spark, just me and no remote starter switch, anyway.
No start.
Cleaned the cap and rotor and checked for cracks.
No start
I took the Thick Flim module off the dizzy and replaced it after I read it out with an ohm meter. Also found out Auto Zone can put them on a tester, found that when I bought the new one. I wanted to read it out before I bought it, that's when they told me they have a tester. Anyway the orginal tested bad top left to top right, GND to PIP IN.
No start.
So now I'm thinking it's a fuel problem so I figured I'd replace the fuel pressure regulator, again same one, and my thoughts were the 93 had a recall so why not just replace the 89's.
No start, but will run longer, good thing.
Son finally came home, so I got him to turn the key. I took a long skinny screwdriver held it to my ear while the other end is in the filler neck touching the side. I wanted to hear if the in-tank pumps were working. So while the key turned I could here each tank pump runs, just a little different sound. But that way I could hear the pump run. Then I went to the extrenal/main/high pressure, it was making some strange noises. So I went to the parts store found a couple different types. I went with the lifetime one, 135.00, the one year was 75.00. The way I figured if it died anytime after a year I'm good, free replacement. The Bosch pump won even at a higher price.
Started and runs great.
I also doubled checked the timing, warm engine, removed spout connector, set dizzy at 10 dbtc, replaced spout, smoked tires, even with 33x10.5x15 Geolander AT/II's.
So basiclly I had a couple problems the Thick Flim was bad on one circuit, and the main pump was going out or went out.
Replaced a couple things that may not needed to be replaced but, replaced them anyway.
Hope this info helps someone down the road.
Mike C.
