my 06 150 with the 4.2 calls for 5-20, or 5-20 blend. Can I run the 5-30 blend without hurting my warrenty?

I wouldn't. 5w20 is fine for the tight tolerances of the engine.

Stick with 5W-20 either Dino, Blend, or Synthetic at a Maximum of 5000 mi or 6 mo until the warranty is out. Ford has been coming down hard on warranty claims. At the very minimum they will want to see reicepts for oil and filter amd a maintenance log.

BTW there may not be as much difference between 5W-20 and 5W-30 as some believe.

Castrol Syntec 5W-30 (9.7 cSt @ 100*C)
Castrol Syntec 5W-20 (9.1 cSt @ 100*C)

The cut-off point between 20 weight and 30 weight is 9.3 cSt @ 100*C

Whether its rediculously thin depends on how you judge it.
By the standards it must pass and the way it has performed or the "gut".
