351W Questions

Got a marine windsor long block. msd ign. 3 years old maybe 10 hours on it. 2v carb. Can't afford to run the 24 foot bath tub. So want to put it in 62 Custom Cab. Besides brass freeze plugs. What are the pros and cons of this.

Must have posted this to early this morning as it droped of the new post section. Basicly just asking about cam and stuff that are different between the marine Windsor and the Automotive one. And if I am gaining or loseing by using a marine block?

The Marine 351 will have the flat tappet HO cam that Ford put into the HO 5.0 back in the early 80's. Also make sure it's not a reverse rotation motor. Twin engined boats had one of each.

Thanks baddad. Its not auto reverse. How will it preform in a truck with msd and headers compared to an automotive engine?

It'll run like an 351 HO. The only differences I'm aware of for a marine vs a truck 351 are the brass core plugs and the HO cam. And the reverse rotation motors in twin applications.
