2000 F250 with the 7700 tow package, the built in electric trailer brake controller is not getting a signal to the trailer wiring connection. Everything else on teh truck and trailer works. We found no fuse or relay that was labeled for the trailer brakes that was defective.
Is there a weak spot in the wiring or maybe another relay or fuse that is not labeled that would effect the trailer brake signal?
I am guessing you checked the fuses and relays in the power distribution box under the hood? I do not know of any problems with the wiring unless your 7 pin plug is corroded internally.
Your 250 is not equipped with a built in trailer brake controller. The integrated brake controller did not come in 250's and 350's with the Towcommand system until 2005. You will need to add a trailer brake controller for the trailer brakes to work.
In addition to what jorlee said you will also need to install a couple of relays one for the power for the electric brakes an one for power assys. on the trailer. These are often found the glovebox if ordered with heavy duty tow pkg. and never yet installed.
Also the harness to plug your brake controller in to is just to the right of the steering collum behind the cig lighter.
