Rear end ratio

Can anyone educate me on gear ratios. What the difference between the performance of a 2:27 and 3:30 ratio.
any help would be appreciated

Rear end ratio

The lower the number is better for the highway but not much power. The higher numbers will pull better. Also the 3.30 to 3.50 ratio is good all around for the street. It als depends on what tranny you are using. Hope this helps

Rear end ratio

I'm running a C4 tranny. The tires will squeal very easy on take off and it gets up pretty fast. I haven't taken it on the freeway yet to see how my speed is.
