Stuck in 4L

Put in 4WL ,tryed all recomended procedures,but it,s won,t come out.

In neutral, stopped, with foot on brake. Then turn the switch from 4L to 4H and then to AWD/2H. Does this process not work? If so, try backing up a number of yards first.

It might help to try turning the wheel back and forth while backing up and if that still doesn't work, stop and go forward turning the wheel again to move in a S shaped path. My old Bronco sometimes need this treatment to shift out of 4WD high or Low.

the shifting is done by a electric motor that is mounted on the tcase. they do need to be lubed from time to time. while you are down there you can have someone flip the switch to see if it is moving. you should also hear clicking in the dash while turning the selector switch.

Thanks for reply, is there a grease fitting for lube on tcase?

no, when you take the motor off you will see the moving parts on the motor and where it makes contact on the tcase. just put grease in there. thats what i did and it works now.
