i was considering purchasing the ride leveling spacers for my 04 F150 FX4 SCab w/ tow package to balance out the ride height. my question is this: does this modification give the truck a rear squat when under trailer load? i haven't had the oppertunity to put load on my truck as i only bought it a week ago.
well i have a 17' open bow boat, and looking to pick up a flatbed/car hauler. the boat only has like 100lb on the tongue so i don't see that squatting the truck... i think i'll end up going w/ the 2.5
From what i have found with towing with this truck, yes it will squat. Not with the 100 pound boat hitch but with the car hauler it will for sure. I find that mine is fairly easy to level out when putting a load on the trailer, which is why i've been holding off on the leveling kit. Also after measuring it it seems my rear springs have settled down some from stock. The best bet in my opinion would be the 2.0 and airbags in the rear, so you can always set it level, but the airbags aren't a real cheap affair. Also with the car hauler a w/d hitch setup will help it out.
I tow a 17' boat as well and I see very little to no squat with the 2.5" kit. Does it matter anyway? If you drive without a trailer more than you drive with one its a no brainer to me to getthe 2.5" unless what you are towing is really heavy.
