Drove truck home next day went to start and it would not start it wouldn't even
try to start with starting fluid. Ran fine the day before.Cranks over but will not start . Thank for any help.
Probably the air intrusion into the fuel system... what typically happens is either the return line o-rings or the check valve off the fuel filter fails, fuel drains back to the tank, and no start. If you have a fuel line from the filter housing and goes to the front injector on that side, you need to remove the line and cap off the fittings it was hooked to. If you have any leaking visible on the return lines and injectors, the return lines and caps need to be replaced. You will also need to purge the air out of the filter before it will start if it has had the fuel drain back to the tank.
Thanks for your input.
I checked all the lines they look o.k I cranked engine over an cracked injector line fuel was clear no air bubbles in fuel.I would think it would at least try to start.with starting fluid. Do you think it could have jumped timing.
So you have fuel coming out of the injector lines when you crank? I doubt it jumped time, the timing is gear to gear, no chain. How are the glow plugs? Do you have it plugged in? If the glow plugs aren't working, it will be hard to get it to light. My 86 won't fire without them even at 80 degrees outside temp... well, it will, but it takes a lot of cranking.
