1952 F1 P/U
Also, my brother wants to restore my grandfather's '52 F1. this is the S/N: F1D2NR15138
Can someone tell me what these numbers and letters mean? I have the F1 figured out. :-)
Thanks a bunch,
Tyman
F1 .......1/2 ton conventional (as you already know)
D ........215 cid Six
2 ........1952 model year
NR .......Norfolk, Va. Assembly plant
15138 ....sequential production number
The only differences between 1951 and 1952 that I know of were minor changes. for 1951 the nose vent on the front of the hood had 3 "openings", as compared to having 2 "openings" and being painted on a 1952. The word "FORD" was spelled out above the grille opening panel on 1952's. Also for 1952: a V8 emblem was added to models with a V-8 engine. Hood side "spears" incorporated a small round emblem near the tip with the F-series insignia in red. Front fender braces were eliminated, and less chrome was used due to the Korean war. I hope this helps.
