Hi,
I am looking to buy a 56 big window. Does
anyone have any info on the location of one.
I would be interested in a whole truck or
just the cab. Please let me know.
If you are still looking for a big window I have two. One is a running f-600 with a flat/grain bed that dumps and the other is a f100 that has a 84 cougar front suspension and a 94 cougar independent rear suspension with a 3.8 v6 TBI motor. Both trucks are projects and my price is probably a bit steep, but I will take 3500 dollars for either one and that is the BOTTOM dollar price.
The f600 has a 1960 model 272 Y-block that runs great and the dump works as well, the brakes are in bad need of attention but I drive it and it is licensed. The F100 has not got far enough to start yet so I can't give you much mechanical condition as too the driveability yet. The prices will go up as the conditions improve. The F100 has no title as of yet and you will have to acquire it. Both trucks have major rust in the normal places. They need front and rear cab corners, fenders repaired or replaced, hoods repaired or replaced, new beds and wood, floor repair at the front supports, and door repair at the bottoms.
I am located in Kentucky.
I have some of the F-100. It is running now and may soon be driveable. E- mail me at kdealaf@vci.net and I will try to send you some pictures by e-mail. I would attempt to send them as a attachment now as well but I don't know how. My phone is 270-383-3539.
Mike Chesser in Georgia is about to begin selling a metal "big back window" kit for 53-56's. I've talked with him and have pictures of the pre-production preparation. I'm going to look at it at PF2001. If your cab is otherwise good, you might consider this option.
BTW, I've found that cabs or big window clips are significantly more expensive than Mike's kit which can be ordered with or without the rear glass.
