i was just wondering..
is there any heat issues if you take the insulation off the intercooler hot side pipe? like motor overheating or melting stuff?
someone that i know said it would and i just wanted to ask the pros

Check out amiller's gallery. He's done a bang up job of stripping off the insulation and then painting them orange.
It will make the turbo noise louder if you remove it.
I'm vascillating on whether to take the plunge. I would love to hear the whistle but I don't want to add any intake drone whatsoever. I had to spend $200.00 on an AIS and take out my 6637 air filter because of it. I loved to hear the turbo sing but hated the drone.

Well I get 0 drone Kwik, even with the fender sleeve all i hear is that nice whistle from the compressor
If you decide to strip them Lowes sells a stripper called Sol-U-Strip it took the wrap off in about 15 minutes with 0 elbow grease. Just dont get any on your skin.
