Question Park position

On an earlier thread topic I had a starting problem, which is pretty much resolved except I need to adjust the gear selector so I can keep the slack out when it's in park. Sometimes I need to push it over in Park so it will start. I have the neutral switch lever aligned up but there seems to be a little slack left in the cable. After taking a quick look there doesn't seem to be much to adjust. Looking under the dash it seems I get just enough play at the selector lever bracket for it to back off slightly and not start. The truck is 12.5 years old , maybe cable replacement time?

Anyone had a problem like this or a quick fix?

Smile Park position

Problem is solved, there is some slack in the cable due to probably age. I was able to solve this by playing with the alignment marks on the neutral switch. It wouldn't start in park when the marks were aligned, but will when the marks are slightly out of alignment.
