We have a 53'pick up that we had restored (we aren't as talented nor do wo have the patience to do it ourselves). I told my husband,"We really should get the truck manual so we can see how to do things like this on our own" But does he listen--NO! So here I am right again!! He's yelling at me to help him get this thing into the truck and we can't figure out if it goes over the bar or under it. I think it goes over the bar with the bar exposed---He thinks it goes under. We have the rubber edging and the clips. All we need know is the knowledge (and a manual).
Thank You

It's been a long time since I've seen one, but I'm pretty sure it goes under the bar, with a washer head screw up into the bar near the middle. Is there a screw hole in the bar where a screw once was?
First you will need a new headliner rubber. It goes around the entire top of the truck starting at the bottom of one corner (near the floor) back to the other side. There are 16 clips that hold the rubber in. Once the rubber is in the card board headliner will fit tightly into the lip of the rubber. Start with one side so you can have some where to push the excess to get it firmly in. The bar will be under the liner, there is a screw that you can pot in the center if the headliner to hold it to the bar after you install the headliner. The back portion of the headliner goes under and around the rubber of the rear window. I would send pictures but my scanner doesn't work with windows ME. You may be able to go to Bob's F-100's web page to get a picture.
