Starting Problem.
with my ignition switch. I can turn the switch to on position, and everything
works, I turn it to start position, and the starter turns over and cranks the
engine, but it will not start. I took 2 wires and ran 1 to the small terminal of the starter solenoid, and 1 to the battery terminal of the solenoid. I then hooked those 2 wires to a starter button. I turned the ignition switch to
on position, pushed the starter button and the truck started. Can anyone
tell me why, it won't start with the ignition switch, when the switch works
and cranks the engine, but won't start. Thank you for any help.
Make sure you leave the locating pin in the new switch till you get it mounted tight to the column.
Right now I just put the starter button on the dash, turn the switch on, and push
the starter button and it starts. No matter how many times you start it, it still won't
start with the ignition switch. Again Thank you very much.
I just wanted to update you on my post of the 12-30-06. I got my ignition
switch, put it in. It worked like a charm. Now I have to get used to just
starting my truck with the key, and not a starter button. But it is Great.
Thank you so much, Franklin2, I sure do appreciate the help.
