Windshield knobs

Windshield *****
I am going to build a custom dash with an overlay from JBG. Anyway, I tried to turn the ***** to fold down the windshield but they wouldnt budge. I tried grabbing the **** with a channel lock but I feel like I am going to break it off. Any suggestions?
