headers for 78' 400?

headers for 78' 400?
im currently rebuilding this 400 i just pulled out of a donor truck. i want to get some headers for it instead reusing the factory exhaust manifolds. theres alot of choices to choose from. theres long ones and the "shorties". is there one of them that i could put on that will bolt on to my exhaust without bringing it back the the exhuast shop to have them hook them up? im afraid of getting the longer ones and having to sawzaw the exhuast back to make room for them to fit. any tips ?? thanks --ryan

did u have to take it to the shop to have them piece your old exhaust to your new headers? what the hells the difference between short headers and long headers besides their length?

i would get the fender exit ones but that is me i have ones on mine not sure brand but they are long tube and the way the exhaust is run now it gets real close to the tranny and t-case.
but usually when you add headers it is a good idea to fab a new exhaust up but you can buy those ball gasket seals to mount up to a factory exhaust.
