Strange behavior

Exclamation Strange behavior

when i change the fuel filter it idles ruff for like 5 min then stops and work fine better than before... when i change the oil it idles ruff for 5 min then stops and run fine! why does it do this? do i need tho reset the computer how do i do this?

it would help to know what truck/engine, but start with the fuel pump relay

I don't know if you unhooked the battery when doing these services but when we replaced the headgasket on my 87 we unhooked the battery for about 2 weeks. Once we hooked it back up the truck ran rough for about 10 minutes and smoothed out.

1990 F250 5.8 Windsor... the fuel pump relay is recently changed,, but its not a big problom becuase.. after the 5 min of less of ruff idles it stops and never does it again... but how do i reset the computer?

Disconnecting the battery for about 30 mins or so has always worked for me.

disconnect negative terminal of battery. Let sit for about 10mins or so. Fire up and let idls for about 10mins and then take her out for a drive!
