Hi Everyone: I own a 2001 F350 CC DRW and may purchase a 2001 F250 CC, both have PS motor. The VIN Decoder on this website notes the HP for the F250 at 215-235 and the F350 at 250-275. Is the F250 PS really "detuned" that much? I have a 4500lb truck camper on the F350 and although it carries it well, if I have to give up 40hp for towing (stock trailer) with the F250 that does not sound exciting to me. Also, does anyone know the date the factory switched from forged rods? Thanks for your help.
I may be way off track but Im sure someone will correct me if I am but Im pretty sure teh DRW has 4.10gears, your SRW may have a higher set of gears (3.73).
F250 or F350 makes no difference.
OBS trucks, and early 99's were rated at 235hp
99.5-2003 Autos were 250
99.5-2003 Manuals were 275
Somewhere in 02 tq was upped to 525 ft lbs.
500 in the other years.
