Question Tranny filter changed

I changed the tranny filter on my '97 3.0 shorty [89,000], but have yet to do the gentle flush. Probabably 500 miles on new filter.
The filter does'nt need to be changed again now, does it?

Others may chime in, but that is the order that I did it. And I was told here that changing the filter again was unnecessary.

As long as your old oil was healthy red and unburnt, I would agree.

Probably not. Even if you do a flush powered by the tranny's pump, you'll be draining out the crap before it gets to your new filter. You could change it in a year or so, of course. Low cost and easy, and maybe advisable, since the new fluid may loosen up some long lingering deposits in the tranny. That is my plan for my Aero.

Wink Tranny filter change

The fluid was a nice red with no burnt smell. I cleaned the pan and the magnet had some fine residue but not much. All in all very clean.
I will do the gentle flush soon.
