I have a 95 F-350 PSD, and the battery light had been flickering on and off, seems to stop when I rev it up a bit, in addition, the guages seem to give erronious readings sometimes as well at random, but I have had no problems cranking in the morning, even at -25 C...it was mentioned to me that it could be an issue with something in the lighting / wiring behind the instrument panel, with a part that can be replaced supposedly...any ideas ??? Thanks.
Have you looked at a possible alternator/ belt issue, if you are starting to have a bearing bind up or something along those lines, had the same issue with my truck but is was water on the fan belt caused very similar symptoms as my water pump went out, mine was an easy diagnosis though, there was a pretty good size puddle, 22 quarts or so I would take it to a parts store and have them check the alternator first, it is free

usually when a battery light flickers like that at idle and goes away when rev'd up that's a symptom of the one or more of the diodes in the rectifier are bad. Better get the Alternator checked out and look at the wiring too on the alternator for wear, breakage, ect. Hope this helps
I dunno about the Gauges.. but I bet if you wiggle the connector on top of your alternator your battery light will go away. Usually it just get a little loose.
Thanks for the replies guys, sorry I am late in returning a reply, my computer crapped out on me...anyways, yes it could have been the belt or the other issues...I had an idler pulley seize up on me on the highway, what a racket that made, then 5 days later my water pump went...when it rains it pours eh ! Thanks info guys ! Cheers
I had an ac hose that ran close to my plug and the wire that makes a loop on top of the plug was broke due to wear from the ac hose. I remove the pins(they make a tool for this or you can use a small screw driver and pull from the back side, just take care not to distort the plastic plug itself) from the plug and cut back all the wires and replaced with similar pins you can obtain from radio shack.
