A\C clutch thump?
98 Ford Ranger 4.0 Auto.
The A\C clutch for last 10,000 miles or so has started to engage really (thump) hard. There is also a pronounced whine from the either the A/C clutch or the A\C compressor when turned on. The A\C system works great. I have search around this site concerning replacing just the clutch (if this is the source of the noise) with not much success. Has any one else had this issue?
