Thanks to Pb Blaster...

A while back some of you gave me some advice about using Pb Blaster to loosen the bolts on my heads before changing the gaskets. Per your advice I went out and put that stuff on about two weeks before I was going to do the work. Two weeks turned into about 4 months, but I finally got out there. I put more stuff on along the way just in case. These are the original bolts that look like they haven't been touched since the factory about 57 years ago. Didn't break any of them!! I was dreading some broken studs in the block, so I'm stoked that didn't happen. I'm having the heads surfaced and magnafluxed, hoping to put it back together this weekend. I guess I'll find out if I have more significant problems if I put it back together and still have water and oil trading places. I also bought a new wiring harness. Hopefully this is a productive weekend.

That stuff defenitely works...It's the first thing I grab when I see a bolt may give me some trouble.

Same here, except my quote would be like this: .... "it's the first thing I grab when I see a bolt."
