It depends on what year you are working on, but I am guessing most 70's up Fords used the type switch. If yours sits and rides on the pedal arm, then it's not adjustable. But it does have a spring that is important to it's operation. Also, if someone has been messing with the brake pedal/pin setup, you may need to look at it.
The pin system for the master cylinder that uses this type of switch has built-in slop or play. When you push on the pedal, the slop in the pin is what activates the brake switch.
