Tailgate trim about to fall off
89 F250 460/7.5, 4x4, long bed
Any ideas on repairing the tailgate trim that is due to fall off any day now?
Are there new clips available? Etc

grizz3000, any rear "Tailgate Outside Finish Panel" off a '87-'91 or '92-'96 F-150/250/350 will fit. These have 2 clips with studs that slide onto each end the Finish Panel itself and as you go to fasten it to the tailgate there are 6 torqs screws and 4 acorn nuts that hold it onto the tailgate. I cannot come up with a part # for the clips on the ends. Hope this helps you in some way.

If you have the trim and none of the middle six attaching points are broken and all your clips, bolts and nuts are still there than just tighten them up. If your missing the clips or any other hardware, you can go to your local junk yard, or ford dealer to get the Original hardware and clips. Unfortunately my service manual does not give me part numbers for the clips and hardware. Good luck.
