steering problem

Well the problem is that when the truck is idling or at low rpms, trying to make a sharp turn is really tough. I can't parrallel park, or anything like that. It only does it every once in a while. I noticed that it will turn easier if you pump the brake while turning the wheel. I don't know a bunch about the power assist on these trucks. If someone could just tell me if this is normal or what you think is wrong I would appreciate it. Thanks

Well it sounds like you need to flush your hydroboost system with synthetic ATF. It is a rather simple procedure. I will have to look for that thread by Fat Diesel.

The PS pump is also tasked with supplying the hydroboost for the braking system sometimes not being able to steer with the brake applied and not moving is a sign of the pump starting to go out. Mines been hard for about 12K i have a PS pump in the toolbox waiting for it to die.
