GPR question ?????????????

So i decided is was time to put in the brand new OEM gpr I have had sitting around for about a year, and guess what. It is no where to be found. So i went down to napa and asked for a gpr-109 and was on my way.

The one from napa is 1/4 turn different than the stock one and does not have any markings. DO the wires go connected in a specific manner?

the GPR acts as any other relay, as long as the control wires are connected to the conntrol terminals(small) and the large feed wires are on the large terminals. it will work. i put the napa part in and hooked the wires up same as the old and then rotated counter clockwise(that was the only way i could go and still have enough length on the wires)

that is what I thought, but I wanted to be sure. i was reading that the glow plugs run at 6v and didnt want to take the risk of burning them up.

After a cold night, my truck would turn over SLOW. It was start after turning over a few times, but it was turning like it had weak batteries. This would go away after the truck warmed up. Yesterday, I jumped the gpr before starting the truck and she fired up like it should.

Not that it really matters, but the GPs are all in parallel operating at whatever your batteries can sustain. So in plain, they all operate at 12V.

just here to conform everone elses replies...

12v good, 6v means your batts are in sorry shape.
If jumping the gpr helps starting, that would indicate the gpr was faulty or the signal was bad. Uf you hook it up as stated above and it doesn't help we can steer you in the right direction. Or I can walk you through th troubleshooting...

well i finally got around to installing the napa 109 relay. man, the trucks starts so funny faster now.

funny thing though, once I was all done installing it, I found the OEM replacement I had "lost"

Should I put the oem in or just let it be for now?

Ron, I do hate it. Now I have 2 GPRs in my tool box, along with the extra fuel pump and filter. CPS, VSS and hpx are in the glove box. A friend asked me why I carry so much stuff and i replied:

"It's pretty simple, I dont want to stay stranded."
