Running engine damage disconnected compressor?

I have a Ford fs10 compressor on 5.0 302 with serpentine setup that I have installed in a 73 F100. If I run the engine, but with no wires or refrigerant lines connected to the compressor, will it damage the compressor? I would like to be able to run the engine before I get all the ac components and lines installed.

The clutch on the compressor should keep anything in compressor from turning as long as it isn't energized(no wires hooked up.

Yep. No problem. Just make certain all the ports for the refrigerant lines are capped properly so that the compressor isn't damaged by environmental factors.

And make sure a good vacuum is pulled after you do get the rest of the system installed!!
